Though mystery (so I've thought) is good, I figure it probably seems that we're just lazy not to have posted on here since 2012. Or perhaps it's seemed that the band is on the rocks. Well, here's a post to say that neither is particularly true. I'm moving to Toronto next week, but Slow Dancers will carry on:

Our three souls therefore, which are one,
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion,
Like gold to aery thinness beat.

Absence may yet prove a blessing, Dear Reader. Anyways, buy our cd.

I think maybe Ransom's poetry is a bit too formal and his aura too old boy's club to receive much attention these days, but, geez, there aren't many poems this good.

Winter Remembered

Two evils, monstrous either one apart,
Possessed me, and were long and loath at going:
A cry of Absence, Absence, in the heart,
And in the wood the furious winter blowing.

Think not, when fire was bright upon my bricks,
And past the tight boards hardly a wind could enter,
I glowed like them, the simple burning sticks,
Far from my cause, my proper heat and center.

Better to walk forth in the frozen air
And wash my wound in the snows; that would be healing;
Because my heart would throb less painful there,
Being caked with cold, and past the smart of feeling.

And where I walked, the murderous winter blast
Would have this body bowed, these eyeballs streaming,
And though I think this heart’s blood froze not fast
It ran too small to spare one drop for dreaming.

Dear love, these fingers that had known your touch,
And tied our separate forces first together,
Were ten poor idiot fingers not worth much,
Ten frozen parsnips hanging in the weather.

Help!

Dear readers!

We need your moneys to pay off the costs of recording our record. Thursday Sept. 13th at Negative Space we will play. So, too, will The Blisters. We ask that you pay us $10 in return.

More wise words

" A great deal of the work of the last forty years seems to me to spring from inadequate knowledge and self-knowledge, a naive trust in the unchallengeable authority of the authentic self."

ADJUSTMENT

Dear readers,

I want to say that Greg's decided to leave our band. He actually made this decision last month. It's certainly sad for he wrote nice parts and was fun to hang out with, but dude's a busy guy -- somethings gotta give, I guess. Cole, Mef, and I are forging on, with new songs even. Expect to witness Slow Dancers throw down a glacial force of heavy elegance when you come to see the two shows we're playing tomorrow.
